The Korea Tourist is an English-language food guide for people exploring Korea independently. It starts with a practical question: where could you eat next, and what would help you order once you get there?

Daniel Ryu’s Korean-language Naver archive provides the starting material. The English site brings together food photographs, Korean menu names, useful questions and researched restaurant information.

Food you can find, names you can use

Browse Seoul or Daejeon to start. Articles aim to identify the right branch, explain unfamiliar menu words and help you decide whether a stop fits your trip. Use the archive photos to recognise dishes, and check the dated menu information before you plan a visit.

How the articles are prepared

AI tools help with research, translation and editing. Some earlier Korean entries were also AI-assisted, so the archive is treated as a starting point rather than independent proof of every detail.

Researched guides link to official sources for the facts they support. Historical entries are labelled, and prices or opening hours are dated when checked. A publication date is not automatically a visit date. Personal visits, purchases and tasting impressions are included as firsthand accounts only when confirmed by the author.

When a detail cannot be established, the article leaves it out or says what still needs checking. Any paid collaboration, gifted item or affiliate link will be identified in the relevant article.

Help keep the guide useful

If a branch has moved, a menu has changed or a translation seems wrong, send a correction with the article link and the detail to update. An official source or a dated menu is particularly helpful.
