The view in the original photographs is a good reason to pause over Sono Calm Yeosu: water beside the promenade, boats at the quay and the city rising behind them. Even under a grey sky, there is plenty to look at. Inside, the room is more restrained, with twin beds, warm lighting and a bathtub.
For travellers choosing this hotel for the water, the most useful booking detail is a small one: Ocean View is a named room option. The current hotel website also sells Standard-view rooms. Check that the rate you select includes the view you want.
Read the room name before booking
The hotel’s current room list separates these two Superior options:
- Superior Ocean View · 슈페리어 오션뷰: 34 m²; double or twin beds; floors 10–20. Listed for two guests, with a maximum of three subject to an extra charge.
- Superior Standard · 슈페리어 스탠다드: 34 m²; twin beds; floors 7–9. Also listed for two guests, with a maximum of three subject to an extra charge. Its view is labelled Standard.
These are current booking categories, not an identification of the room in the old photographs. The archive shows twin beds and a waterfront outlook but does not record the booked category. Use the pictures for the room’s appearance, then use the hotel’s current room description for the bed and view you are buying.
Within the Ocean View category, the hotel describes outlooks towards Odongdo or towards the city alongside the sea. If one particular direction matters, ask before paying; a request alone does not guarantee a room assignment.
Arriving in Yeosu
The address is on Odongdo-ro, on the waterfront side of the city. The Korea Tourism Organization places it roughly a five-minute drive from Yeosu EXPO railway station. Treat that as an orientation, not a guaranteed journey time: traffic and the taxi queue can change the arrival.
For a rail trip, save the Korean address before boarding. With luggage, check a taxi or a live route from the station rather than assuming a short drive means an equally short walk. For Yi Sun-sin Square and other food stops, check the route separately from the station transfer and allow time to get back to the hotel.

Before choosing a rate, check breakfast, cancellation conditions and whether any sauna access is included. A facility appearing in the hotel description does not make it part of every room package.
Useful when comparing rooms: 이 요금에 오션뷰가 포함돼 있나요? — “Does this rate include an ocean view?” For two separate beds, add 트윈룸으로 예약하고 싶어요. — “I’d like to book a twin room.”
